Many Hands, Lots of Work Done

I wouldn’t say yard work is one of my favorite things. But spending a few hours recently helping a group of Angie’s List employees weed, mulch and plant perennials at a local public school was a different story. And it was just one of the many community-service projects Angie’s List handled during Indy... Read More

Applying Ourselves to a Problem

In late August, my team and I organized our first-ever Service Industry Job Fair, part of our response to the nationwide challenge service companies face finding qualified employees. The event put scores of job-hunters in front of 30 Central Indiana companies wanting to fill positions ranging from management to general labor to sales to plumbing. We plan to continue this effort in other... Read More

A Big Day for Little Listers

Dozens of employees’ children recently spent time at Angie’s List. The video below highlights kids in kindergarten through Grade 3. (We plan two separate days for different age groups.) The 2015 days marked our third annual observation of Bring your Kids to Work Day. Based on the global Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work Day, our... Read More

A Drone's-Eye View of Angie's List

When I started Angie’s List in 1995, in a 100-square-foot office in Columbus, Ohio, I couldn’t imagine the high-flying company we would become. To view Parts 2 and 3 of the video recording of our interview, see ... Read More

Bring Your Kids To Work Day at Angie's List

The Angie's List Happiness Team recently organized a Bring Your Kids To Work Day event at our main campus in Indianapolis. While it’s based on the global Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work Day, which occurs in April in the U.S., our event  was set in July so kids wouldn’t miss school.

Today Show profiles Angie

I don't love being in front of TV cameras, but Willie Geist of the Today Show made it enjoyable. He even got me to sing the little song that inspired the children's book I give to Angie's List employees who are expectant parents!

Mompreneur Spotlight

On a recent trip to New York, I was the guest Modern Mompreneur host Anjali Varma. I enjoyed telling her the story of how I got Angie's List off the ground and have kept it growing even as my own family has expanded.
